Singapore Sogetsu Association & Activities
Sogetsu Ikebana was introduced to Singapore in 1957 by the late Mrs Kazue Kato Kim. She established the Singapore Sogetsu Association (SSA) in 1966 and became its Founder-President until July 17, 2016.
Currently helmed by Mrs Pandora Ip, a Sogetsu veteran for more than 20 years, SSA hopes to continue to touch lives through its floral activities, and propagate its founding mission of serving charity through the Sogetsu floral art.
The Association organizes classes, exhibitions, workshops and get-togethers for sharing of creative Ikebana ideas among members.
Classes are conducted for beginners, intermediate and advanced students by Sogetsu-qualified Ikebana teachers.
Singapore Sogetsu Association is also active in charity. Every year, the Association stages a major floral demonstration by local and overseas Sogetsu Ikebana masters to raise money for the needy in Singapore. Exhibitions supported by Sogetsu members are also held to allow members to express their creativity and also to interest the public on Sogetsu Ikebana.
